COVID-19 & MACULAR DEGENERATION
Stay Informed and Healthy
Are you concerned about your eye health during the pandemic? This is a difficult time for all us, as we worry about the health of our family, our friends and our nation. With this in mind, BrightFocus Foundation's Macular Degeneration Research program would like to share some key resources that may be useful to you and your family.
- People Who Are at Higher Risk for Severe Illness
As you may know, older adults and people who have serious chronic medical conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and lung disease are at greater risk for coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The federal Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has important information to reduce your risk of getting sick. - Coronavirus Eye Safety
The American Academy of Ophthalmology has new information about coronavirus and eye safety, in particular recommendations on following good contact lens hygiene, avoiding touching or rubbing your nose, mouth and, especially, your eyes, and possible changes to your routine eye exam and procedures.
Please stay as informed and healthy as you can, and please consider sharing this information with others.
