Glaucoma Imaging: Trends in Detection and Diagnosis

Optic nerve imaging techniques have undergone tremendous advancements over the last decade that will enable earlier glaucoma detection and diagnosis. Dr. Sarah Van Tassel outlined the current technology and took live questions from the audience.

Sarah H. Van Tassel, MD is Director of the Glaucoma Service and Glaucoma Fellowship at Weill Cornell Medicine Ophthalmology. Dr. Van Tassel specializes in glaucoma evaluation and treatment, including medical management, laser, and surgical procedures. She also performs cataract surgery and is up-to-date on the latest advances in microinvasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). A native of Missouri, Dr. Van Tassel completed her residency in ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medical College and her fellowship in glaucoma at Duke University. Dr. Van Tassel’s interests include personalized glaucoma care, surgical outcomes, ophthalmic imaging, and the intersection of mental health and glaucoma.
