Causes of Developmental Glaucoma

Developmental glaucomas are a group of eye disorders in which there is an abnormality in the development of the eye’s drainage structures, leading to elevated eye pressures and damage to the optic nerve.

This type of glaucoma includes primary congenital glaucoma, which occurs at or soon after birth, as well as other causes of childhood or juvenile glaucoma. Children and adolescents can also develop some of the other forms of glaucoma that are due to the secondary causes.
