Biography
Dr. Sarah Zhang was trained as an Ophthalmologist and a vision researcher. She received her M.D. degree from Sun Yat-sen University and post-doctoral training at Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Medical University of South Carolina, and University of Oklahoma. She is currently Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She also holds a secondary appointment as Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at the same institution. Dr. Zhang’s laboratory studies the mechanisms of retinal diseases including diabetic retinopathy and retinal neurodegeneration related to age-related macular degeneration and glaucoma.
