Biography
Dr. Du is an assistant professor at the department of ophthalmology & visual sciences and department of biochemistry at the West Virginia University. He received his PhD at Peking University and completed his postdoctoral training at the Medical College of Wisconsin and the University of Washington. Dr. Du’s Lab is interested in understanding nutrient utilization and energy metabolism in the eye, particularly retinal degenerative diseases such as age-related macular degeneration. The goal of his research is to reveal the metabolic regulation and dysregulation in the healthy and diseased eye and to develop nutrition-based therapies for retinal degenerative disease.
