Biography

Amanda Melin, PhD, is an Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair in the Departments of Anthropology & Archaeology and Medical Genetics at the University of Calgary, Canada. She studies the evolution, function, and diseases of sensory systems in primates, including humans, with a focus on the visual system. Her approaches unite genetics and genomics with observational study of behavior, and she collaborates with ophthalmologists and data scientists to approach her research from multiple angles.
