BrightFocus Foundation Adds Veteran Finance Executive to Leadership Team

Jon WalshBrightFocus Foundation, a premier global nonprofit funder of research to defeat Alzheimer’s, macular degeneration, and glaucoma, has welcomed Jon Walsh as its new Senior Vice President, Finance and Administration.

Walsh is a mission- and results-driven finance executive with more than 25 years of experience. His expertise spans strategic and operational planning and forecasting, accounting, domestic and international operations/HR, board relations, and process improvement.

“BrightFocus funds innovative global research to bring a cure for diseases that have directly impacted my family. I am honored to bring my financial and operational experience to this amazing team as we strive to expand research in curing diseases of mind and sight,” he said.

Prior to BrightFocus, Walsh served as chief financial officer at Symplicity Corporation in Arlington, Virginia, where he provided strategic and operational leadership for all financial and legal aspects of the international educational technology organization. He previously held positions at CoStar Group, Homesnap, Blackboard Inc., and EY.

“I am delighted to welcome Jon to the Foundation’s leadership team,” said BrightFocus President and CEO Stacy Pagos Haller. “His expertise and knowledge will help power our continued success.”

Walsh holds a bachelor’s in business administration from James Madison University. His nonprofit experience includes serving on the Finance Committee of Tech Impact since 2014, supporting its mission to ensure all nonprofits can use technology to better serve our world.
